Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

wage garnishment

I was informed by my employee that my wages are going to be garnished soon. I spoke with the creditor and was told if I paid 50% of the balance owed that they would work out a payment plan. If they start garnishing my wages and I pay an amount to help cover the 50%, are they obligated to keep their word? The amount I would have to pay is 3500.00 and I don't have that. Do I have any options?

Re: wage garnishment

Meet with a bankruptcy lawyer ASAPto weigh your options. A payment does not stop a garnishment.
