wrongly accused

I stayed one night at a fairly low budget hotel. When my debit card was charged an extra fifty dollars, I called the hotel to tell them they had made a mistake. I was told I was being charged for the picture I stole from the wall. I was stunned. I did not steal anything and for them to accuse me and assume I had taken it and charge me for it is appauling. What are my options?

Within 60 days of the billing, dispute it in writing with your credit card company (see the details on how to do this on your statement and follow it EXACTLY).
