The penalty for Obstruction is up to one year in jail; as it is for all misdemeanors. The penalty for each count of forgery in the 2nd degree is one to five years in prison.

The essential elements of forgery in this instance are 1. your possession of the documents, 2. in a fictitious name or purporting to be made by another person, and 3. intent to defraud.

Without knowing more about your case, there is no way I can be more specific in answering your query. Please contact my office on Monday for a further consultation.
