Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

If i was 17 in Ga and in georgia they try 17yr olds as an adult and i commited a shoplifting crime, i never got a chance to go to court because i moved. Now the state i live in now MD, still treats 17 yr olds as juveniles. What is going to happen to me if i get in trouble by the cops. See im almost 18 and i want to get all this cleared up. Because im scared to get a license.

You were charged with shoplifting in Georgia and never went to court. If your case has not been called to court, you have no problem. If your case has been called to court, and you failed to appear, a bench warrant is waiting for you. Whenever you are discovered, you will be arrested. The law in Maryland has no bearing on anything. Maryland has nothing to do with anything. If you get into trouble, and there is a warrant, you will be shipped back to Georgia on the slow bus (three days) and will wait in jail, until your case appears before a judge. If you want to get it cleared up, retain an attorney work out a deal or a dismissal and move on with your life. Good luck.

You are an adult criminal in the eyes of the law. You now have two charges (the second for failure to appear). Yoiu need to get a lawyer, return to Georgia and turn yourself in. That is far better than being caught in Maryland, held until you can be extradited, and sitting in jail longer.
