Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
Aggravated Battery
My husband got into a fight with another boy his age and the boy's parents filed battery charges against him and he went to court and went to jail got out on bond and it has been three years and now they are trying to charge him with a felony, aggravated battery. How can they do that and he has never been into any other trouble besides this. Can he just get a fine because his job requires a security clearance and working out of town a lot?

Re: Aggravated Battery
If he's charged with a felony battery it means some sort of disfiguring injury occurred. It is highly unlikely that he will just get a fine. He may be eligible for First Offender treatment, though, which could help him with his job situation.
