Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
an aquaintance was booked in county jail charged with forgery and breaking and entering i think. anyway her bond is set at $25000 her mother has the 2500 to get her out but is not a resident of this state I have been asked to sign her bond, what could happen to me if she skips out on her bond? I do not have $25000 or own any property.

I would be surprised if they want you to sign her bond as a co-signor if you have no assets (money, property, cars, etc.). Regardless, if you sign, you are liable for the full amount of the bond plus expenses if your friend or relative does not go to court. While you may not have any money or property now, you may in the future.
Best of luck.******The above does not create an attorney-client relationship and is for informational purposes only.*******
