Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
Armed Robbery and so much more!
My sons father was arrested last October(2001). He's charged with Armed Robbery,Kidnapping,Aggravated Assult,False Imprisonment,Burglary and Entering auto.My question is should he plea or go to trail???? And is he looking at serious time?

I guess the answer to your question really depends on the facts of his particular case, for example what the evidence is against him, what his prior criminal record is, what type of plea the DA may be offering and where the case would be tried. Also, since it has been over a year since the arrest, any witnesses that would be helpful to your son's father may be fast disappearing. Sometimes a plea is better than a trial because of the uncertainty of a trial, but I don't think a defendant should ever just enter into a plea without serious negotiations, particularly if he doesn't have an attorney representing him.
