Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
arraignment procedure
defendent is currently in jail in a different county. He has an upcoming court date for arraignment 2nd degree felony charge trying to get it downgraded to a misdemeanor.
Is it possible for the judge and DA to agree to the lesser charge all in the same day? So the defendent can go forth with his violation of probation charge in the other county.
The lawyer wanted this charge taken care of before he went in front of the judge in the county that he is jailed in.
