Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
I was arrested on January 7th, 2009. This is the first time I have ever been arrested. I have two felonies (obstruction of police officer) and two misdemeanors (disorderly conduct and public drunkenness). Basically what happened is that I took one Unisom (OTC sleep aid) and had two alcoholic drinks. I got a ride to Walgreens and from there I have no recollection of what happened. I was told I got angry and started throwing products around the store. When the police arrived I resisted arrest and tried to bite one of the cops. I am very frightened since this is the first time I have been in trouble, I would like to know what will happen when I go to court. Will my misdemeanor charges get dropped? Will the judge ask me to explain what happened? What is the normal punishment for a first offender with these charges? I'm looking for all the information I can get, I really appreciate your response. Thank you.

People charged with felonies need to get advice from their criminal lawyer, not a website.
