You can spend up to a year in jail, be fined $1000 plusadd on fees,or serve up to a year's probation. You also, with a criminal conviction, may findit very hard to ever get a job. These are consequences that will be affected by one thing - whetheryou get a lawyer. There is a high likelihood that you will do FAR better and have more options with a lawyer than without one.
Glen is absolutely correct
Furthermore, if it is a family violence batter (with members of your family or person you live(d) with) you will lose your right to bear arms (or be around them)
This is serious, your top priority is to hire a criminal defense attorney ASAP
Good luck
