Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
My boyfriend bought a gun from a guy 2 years ago. He asked if it was stolen and the guy said no. Well a short time later my boyfriend sold it at a pawnshop.About 6 weeks ago, the police came to our door and said the gun had been reported stolen. My boyfriend gave the police the name and address of the guy he bought it from, but the police still keep calling my boyfriend and want him to come to the station to "answer some questions they can't ask over the phone". Is my boyfriend in trouble? Are they going to arrest him? Does he need a lawyer? What is going to happen?

When you buy something and have to ask "Is it stolen" a reasonable person knows it probably is and would nolt have bought it. That creates a possibility he could be arrested, prosecuted and jailed. Yes he needs a lawyer and he should not be talking to the police without one.
