Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
My boyfriend has just been charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm, and probation violation. His actions are in no way the person he is. I have known for a while he suffers from bipolar and depression. He has never been clinically diagnosed, therefore his mental disease has been untreated for many years now. I am no psychologist or psychiatrist, But I do however have a nursing background and his symptoms of this disease are abundant. Over the past 6 months it has become more and more abrasive. He and his father were amazingly close. After the death of his father in december he has lost his job, which he has had for 6 years, lost his home, became emotionally and physically distance, withdrew from family and friends, and has been on a maniac/depression roller coaster. About a week ago he and his brothers got together and started drinking. He and his father both have a history of drinking, hence the reason for the probation violation for drunk driving. He became angry and agitated with his brothers as he has lately and left the brothers house. He then went to his father's house where he obtained a firearm, and went to the exit below our house, and demanded money from the cashier, firing a shot in the air on demand and 1 as he left. Personally I think he is now reaching the point of a psychological meltdown. Learning of his actions and now trying to personally comprehend and cope with what he has done, has now left him realizing he doesn't understand the person he is or how he became this person. Can you please help me?

Help you? OK, to help you, you need to realize the situation, stop being a nurse or mother and a girlfriend who needs a project and a patient, and stop being his girlfriend. To help HIM, you can still be a friend (with plenty of space and distance) and assist him in getting a good criminal lawyer.
Sure I can help, when do you want to schedule a consult. See website: www.lawrencelewispc.com Look forward to hearing from you.
He could easily spend much of his life in prison with those charges, and certainly is likely to spend considerable time there with such serious charges. While many would say that the smartest move you could make is to run from such a person, if you are determined to help him, the one and only way to help him is to hire him an experienced criminal lawyer.
