Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
Myself and my boyfriend at the time were arrested for possession of marijuana and cocaine with intent. They were his drugs and, when we were first arrested, he assured me that he would take the blame. I got out of jail on bond but he remained in jail because he couldn't pay his bond. He has recently gotten out of jail. I haven't contacted him in some time so I have a feeling that due to this, he may not take the blame. However, I think that if I were to talk to him he would decide otherwise. My lawyer has advised me not to talk to him but I know its not part of my bond conditions. I'm wondering why this is and what would be the consequences of disregarding his advice? I ask because I fear I will be compelled to do so.

You have a simple choice. As your lawyer told you, you can ignore the judge, talk to your boyfriend and go to jail or you can be smart and listen to your lawyer.
