Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
My brother was recently arrested for felony shoplifting. He was already on probation in three other jurisdictions (1) burglary (2) shoplifting (3) poss. of marijuana. Is it possible to ask for a sentence of three years in prison (the longest of the remaining probation) and take care of all these probation sentences, including this new charge? If so, does he ask something like this from his probation officer where he is held now? Do p.o.'s from other jurisdictions communicate with one another in situations like this? Any advice or direction would be appreciated. Thanks.

He can ask anything he wants. He is likely to face significant time. He is likely to face far more time if he does somethig stupid like talk to his probation officer directly than he would if he had a lawyer, so help him by not telling him this ridiculous idea and by helping him hire counsel.
He will not be coordinating the effort. He needs an attorney to put together a global plea. See website for info on retaining the right attorney: http://www.lawrencelewispc.com/pages.php?go=pinfo&PID=38
Good luck.
