Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

Burglary Charges

I suspect my neighbor of breaking into my house twice this year . First in Jan. and again in June. the second break in happened while I was away for 10 days and my brother collected my mail everyday. On the first Sat. at approx 3:30pm I got a call from my alarm company and I told them to send the police over I also called my brother who had collected the mail a couple hours before and got there before the police and confirmed that someone had broken in, the police came but nothing was taken. Approx 1 hour later after they had left and my brother had gone to the hardware store to get supplies to secure the house the alarm company again call, I called my brother and he got there and confirm that someone had again broken in but this time they stole a 42'' television and other small things. I am convince the burglars knew I was not around and the only neighbor who I suspect, can see all the activities at both the front and back of my house . The house in front and the house 2 doors down from them was also burglerized on different occasions. Can I file charges.

Re: Burglary Charges

You can file a complaint and tell the police who you suspect broke into your house, but the police will conduct an investigation and arrest someone only if there is probable cause to support the charges.
