Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
Burglary
My son is currently in jail for 2 counts of burglary, and one count altered identity mark. Basically, he got pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt and a stolen computer was in his car. He admitted right away to committing two burglarys. Obviously he was scared. He is 25 and has nothing on his record. He has not went to court yet and I am worried these will be three felony strikes against him. Is this something he could plea no-lo to? My son has never been in any trouble and started hanging with the wrong crowd and next thing I know, this happened. Thank you for any help you can advise. Lee

Re: Burglary
Your son should speak with an attorney. He may have constitutional violations which would provide defenses to the charges. You can speak with my colleague, Kendall Carter at 404.962.4475. He is a former prosecutor for Fulton County.
