Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

I was caught allegedly stealing cans from a recycle bin and the police went through my truck and took everything of value from my truck. They said they were confiscating it and putting it into evidence, but gave me no inventory of what they took then impounded my truck. Is that even legal or did some police just steal my stuff. I was arrested in cobb county, ga

You have two far bigger problems than the one you asked.

(1) You may spend time in jail.

(2) They may also attempt to seize your truck.

You need a lawyer.

The police just stole all of your valuable stuff. Is that what you want to hear? You had little of value. Know how I know. You told me. You are caught taking cans from a recycling bin. Therefore, you had little of value in the vehicle. Whatever you did have of value, like an IPOD, computer or DVD player, the police think is stolen. So,the police confiscated it in order to run serial numbers. When you pull the police report, you will see an inventory of everything the police took from you. It is now all in evidence. But because you are a struggling thief, you think everyone is a strugglign thief. You don't really need a lawyer. You need therapy.
