Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
Is it possible to get the charge of battery FVA reduced or dropped altogether if the victim is unwilling to take it to court? The state has picked the case up, but the victim (family member) wants no court involvement for the defendant. Is it possible to speak to the prosecutors office about this without retaining a lawyer? And could the prosecutor be convinced to drop charges in favor of a program similar to the Pre-Trial Intervention?
