Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

I was charged with simple battery against my boyfriend. my trial date is next week. is it more beneficial for me to have him come and speak on my behalf or send in a signed affidavit from him or not have him come or send anything at all?

How is he going to speak on your behalf? Are you going to take the judge aside and have him speak to your boyfriend? Or is he going to testify after your jury is selected. I don't know how to answer that question. He is a nencessary witness. Therefore, I would think if he appears in court the prosecutor will go forward with your jury trial. After the jury is selected, and he is called to testify he can say all the glowing things he wants to about you. Good luck.
