Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
What charges can be applied to someone if they borrowed a car (from family) but failed to return the vehicle within the time agreed upon?
My boyfriend borrowed the car from his step dad and a week before he had to return it my car broke down. I am pregnant and we needed the car until mine was repaired. After I got my car back we tried to return the vehicle but his step dad had already issued a warrant claiming that he stole the car. Does his step dad have a case if my boyfriend can prove he attempted to return the vehicle?

"Borrowing" a car or anything else without permission, including keeping it after permission is withdrawn, can certainly be considered theft or other criminal activity.
