Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
I had collected 3 weeks of unemployment in the state of Georgia while starting a new job. I was waiting for my first full check from my new employer.
Can I pay the Dept of Labor back or would I go to jail? I have never been in a position before like this and no past records.

You knowingly committed a crime. Assuming this was recent and you do the right thing and return the money quickly, you likely will be okay. If you concealed this for a long time or waited until they caught you, meet with a lawyer.

I would advise you to go to them and return the money. Whatever happens from there happens. You put yourself in the best position when you return the money quickly. See website on how to retain the best attorney: www.lawrencelewispc.com
