Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
Need Conviction removed from my record
I committed a crime (Aggravated Assault) in 1999. And I served all my time (5 years). How can I get my conviction removed from my record so that I can stop checking ''Convicted of Felony'' on Applications? I am presently an MFA student at Queens University of Charlotte. And would like to obtain jobs without explaining my past or not getting jobs because of my past. Please tell me what to do to rectify this matter ASAP. Thank you so very much for your help.

Re: Need Conviction removed from my record
Contact the governor to get a pardon. That would remove the conviction from your records. However, it would not absolve you from reporting it unless the governor grants you are pardon because you are actually innocent.
