I have court appointed lawyer and arraignment and calendar call are over. Can I fire him, and hire another lawyer myself if trial date is 2 weeks away?

You can always retain an attorney, but he/she must be ready to try the case as soon as he/she is retained. See website for info on retaining the right attorney: http://www.lawrencelewispc.com/pages.php?go=pinfo&PID=38
Good luck
