what am i to do when i go to court. i was caught shoplifting and dont know what to plead. this is my first time and i have no idea what to do. can you help me?

Make sure you have a lawyer.
Do not even think of going without counsel.
The decision on what to plead depends on the facts of the case, what the prosecutor may be agreeable to, and other details. Your attorney will likely achieve a better result than the one you will receive.

What you do is: retain an attorney. If you do not choose to retain an attorney, please read all of the questions that people have about how to get convictions off of their records, because they are having a hard time finding employment. Once a conviction goes on your record, it does not come off.
