Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

I had a criminal case, was determined indigent, was appointed counsel for a short time, but not for appeal, received no assistance for the appeal.

At least two cases above and the U.S. Constitution support that I should have a 'do over' appeal this time with counsel.

HOW?

Do I petition the state supreme court or will they say they do not have jurisdiction or that's not the proper way to do it?

Do I file a mandamus action in state court against the chief justice directing that a fair appeal be had? Do I file a mandamus action directing a public defender to file whatever necessary to get a new appeal? (I do not think I can do mandamus against the appellate court in general or the state in general - I think I have to pick a particular person to name.) Please email back.

THANKS.
