Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

criminal charges on shoplifting

my 17 yr old daughter, who is visiting friends and family in georgia, was just arrested and is being booked on shoplifting charges. I spoke to a deputy, and was told it will take 6-8 hrs to book her. My family and I live in colorado, it has been only 1 hour since her arrest. She is 17, alone, and before the arrest, she was swimming, meaning she is in her swimming suit. Sir, or Mam, what can I do ?

Re: criminal charges on shoplifting

You should contact a good criminal defense attorney in the county in Georgia in which your daughter was arrested who cna arrange to bail her out. It will cost you a pretty penny. Since she is not from that county in Georgia it will be difficult to get a Personal recognizance (signature bond).

Best of Luck

I didn't get this until Monday, I hope you have resolved this already. If not, you need to line up a lawyer in Georgia. Now. (GA law applies, so you need GA counsel).
