Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

What can we do if the DA's office is taking a very relaxed approach to a child abuse case? Will getting my attorney involved help?

The case has been going on for half the child's life. The judge told the defendant to get an attorney and the ADA was going to schedule a status meeting a month before the trial to make sure that this was accomplished. We are about a month out now and no word on this meeting.

The trial has been delayed 6 times. What is the best course of action?

The state prosecutes crimes. Neither you nor a private attorney can. Other than expressing your concerns to the DA, you cannot do anything.
