Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
Dealine to submit Charges
Hi. How long does a business (for example: store, supermarket, etc) have to press charges of theft or shoplifting to a suspected person if that person was not caught committing the alleged crime the day of the act. If the personnel of the business (for example: store, supermarket, etc)was not aware of the criminal act until some days after the alleged crime, can they still press charges and have the person arrested even though some time have already passed before they were aware of the incident?
