Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
Dog on Dog attack resulting in Death and injury to 2 of my Dogs
My dachsund, Oscar, was attacked by a dog belonging to neighbors who abut my backyard (fenced in). He was killed. I reported it to the Sheriff's department and animal control. Nothing was done. I was given another dachsund, Vinny, about 6 months ago. Since that time he has been attacked by the same dog twice. Both times I reported to the Sheriff's department and animal control. The last time the attack was witnessed by a neighbor. Even though he has given a written statement and I have submitted photos and vet bills (so far totally in excess fo $1,500), they still say nothing can be done. Please advise on my next step. I have put barbed wire on the top of my fence and keep the dog inside most of the time, but this has not helped at all. I'm at my wits end and just don't know what to do. Following the proper procedures has gotten me nowhere. Please, please help.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your dog. I would suggest bringing a civil action against the dog's owner to recover your damages. Pinching their pocket may give them the incentive to keep their dog under control. Best of luck. [email protected]
