Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
My dorm room was searched with a warrant that specified it was for "the occupants of room XXX, John Doe and John Roe" and in the process the police confiscated a lockbox that was on my side of the room. I was not present for the search and I was not involved in the ordeal that led to the search of the room (police smelled marijuana). Inside the lockbox was a pipe and grinder. Can I be charged for the contents of the box? John Doe and John Roe were arrested for possession.
