Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

Early release from probation

I was sentenced under the First Offender status for sexual explotation with 1 year served and 9 years of probation. Is it possible to be released from probation early after 2 years of good conduct? It is my understanding that if I comply with the orders of my probation officer that I can petition the court to be released and since I am a First Offender, my criminal record will be expunged. It is my understanding I will come off the sex offenders list upon release from probation. I am unable to find employment due to my criminal record. I have had multiple job offers recinded after the background check was obtained. Please help.

Re: Early release from probation

It is possible to have an early termination from probation. You have to first make sure you have any fines and other conditions finished. Then you'll have to hire an attorney to file a motion to terminate your probation to the judge who placed you on probation in the first place.

Then it's up to the discretion of the judge.
