Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

How do you get evidence against you in a criminal case in Georgia? I have read some about discovery process in criminal cases but unsure of the legal requirements.

Is your question: How do you get the discovery (e.g. police report, witness statemets, photographs, etc.) without hiring an attorney? That's easy. After the accused is indicted or accused formally in a charging document, you file a discovery motion, letting the prosecutor know that you will share all of your defense secrets and witnesses, IF they share all of their information with you. Then, which you do not know, you will have ten days to file pre-trial motions. If you review the discovery, and don't know what documents to file, you may be precluded from ever filing any pre-trial motions (motions which might win the case). So, the price you pay for reviewing the discovery without your attorney may be prison time, or additional prison time. Now, you cannot say you didn't know.

You do one of two things. You wing it on your own, probably mess up, and may end up in jail. Or you hire an attorney to seek and use discovery properly.
