Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
expunge a criminal record in georgia
I was convicted of a crime over 7 years ago. It was my first offense. I did not take first offender. Can my record be exunged? Theft by taking. I have not been convicted of any other crimes. My record has been clear since that arrest. I was given 2 years probation that ended in 1 year.

Re: expunge a criminal record in georgia
Your case does not fit the expungement statute, but there may be a way to apply to the Superior Court Judge seeking an exercise of the inherent power of a Superior Court judge to deal with the records of the Court. Whether the Court will do so or not depends on the particular facts of the case and whether a persuasive enough case can be made the to particular judge.
