Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

Extradition in Florida Leon County

Hi,

My husband is currently in a Georgia jail. He has served his time for a probation violation and was sset to be released on 08-03. He was not released due to a hold from Florida in Leon County. It has now been 17 days and nothing is being done. My question is how long can Georgia hold him waiting on Flordia to determine if they are going to come and get him. Please note he has not signed any extradition papers and he was never arrested in Florida. He is denying that the charges are his. Please let me knwo what is the best way to handle this matter.

Re: Extradition in Florida Leon County

You can request that an extradition hearing be held in order to try to speed up the process, but he will probably be taken to Florida within a month or so. He has to answer the charges in Florida.
