Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
I have a felony (criminal damage to property) I keyed a car. It has been 10 years ago and I want to know if I can get it removed for employment purposes. If so what is the process to get it removed?

Georgia's expungement law is very limited.
In Georgia, you can usually only get your record expunged if you were granted First Offender status and successfully completed your probation or sentence, or if your charges were dismissed or never prosecuted. In other words, most guilty pleas and nolo pleas, and most convictions, cannot be expunged.
You will want to sit down with a lawyer and see if you have any options. The time when it would have helped more was back in the original case, as if you had at that time sought first offender status or a deferred disposition, you might have options now.
Convictions are forever. And contrary to popular opinion, 1st offender resolutions will not be expunged either. See website for other helpful hints: www.lawrencelewispc.com
