Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
I got in a fight with my friend and I did most of the beating. 2 hours later I went back to his house to talk and he thought I was gonna hit him again so he called the cops. On my way out I got arrested for battery and went to jail.(because I punched first and he didnt really fight back) But my friend told the cops he doesn't want to press any charges. Should I still get a lawyer or no?

unless you don't mind having a conviction on your record, you need an attorney. If you think you do not need an attorney review the questions on expungment, View website on FAQ: www.lawrencelewispc.com
You are facing up to a year in jail and $1000 fine (and your friend doesn't press charges; the state does). You also could have a criminal record for life, making you unemployable. Those are reasons you have to get a lawyer.
