Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
Fines and Probation
In 2000 I went to court for leash law violation. I was ordered to pay a fine and put on probation for 4 months. I have yet to do so because the animals did not belong to me and was angry about it. I need to resolve it though and would like to know how to determine whether or not magistrate court has issued a warrant and whom I need to contact to pay it without having to do jail time. Any suggestions?

Re: Fines and Probation
You should contact the Probation Department in the County where you were sentenced. They should be able to tell you whether you are in warrant status or not. At this point, it is up to Probation whether they want to try to revoke your sentence for some or all of that four months. Please call me if you need further assistance in this matter.
