Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

My friend currently lives in the state of Washington. He has a warrant in Georgia. He recently went to jail for a day. They did not send him back to Georgia though. I contacted the courthouse to figure out what was going on. They said they do have a warrant and do need to turn himself in, but not currently active or still in process or something like that. Can you please answer a few questions for me? So that I can help him with this.

1st - He's been scared to go job hunting or start college because he's afraid the warrant will hinder him from getting a job or going to school? Will it?

2nd - Since he has no job or money he doesn't have the traveling expenses to come to Georgia, is there anyway he can handle the warrant situation without coming back to Georgia?

Your friend is a criminal and this will haunt him for years and maybe for life. The consequences could end up being far better if he gets a lawyer.

So he needs to get a lawyer in Georgia, and the lawyer will determine what he needs to do. Generally step one will be to turn himself in, possibly with bail rearranged.
