Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

Georgia First Offender Act

My friend was convicted of a felony. He plead guilty under the First Offender Act plus probation. He was sentenced to a year in jail. Was he suppose to get jail time under this Act. Going into jail under this Act, how does he get out early. Who can assist him in getting released early? What is the usual time spent in jail for a first offender serving a one year term who behaves very good. My friend is a professional. Please let me know if there is anyone on the outside who can help him get a early release.

Re: Georgia First Offender Act

The has to be a sentence in order to be sentenced under the first offenders act. That said the sentence can be probated, suspended and dealt with in all the ways a judge can sentence. The balance of your question can not be answered with the limited information provided.

I will be happy to discuss this matter further, should you wish to do so and conditioned on your ability to provide the information which will be needed to give detailed responses.
