Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
My girlfriends cell phone stopped working and I said she could use one of my extra phones which I helped her activate on her fathers plan. She said she would return the phone when she got a new one. Several months later, she has accused me of harrassing her after breaking up; I texted her numerous time requesting she return my property...the cell phone and my dog. I have a civil dispute filed pertaining to the dog and when she was served, she pressed criminal harrassment charges against me. Can I be held accountable for texting my own phone? Also, she was sent a certified letter from my attorney demanding she return the property prior to her filing charges. Won't this hold weight in both matters?
