Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
My name is Gregory Harp. I am contacting you on behalf of my family concerning some very disturbing issues our family has concerning a lack of punishment on an individual basis. My brother in law murdered my sister in February. He stabbed her 68 times, all above the chest besides the wounds to her hands from where she tried to cover herself. Now comes the disturbing story. My sister was a very sweet person who worked very hard and had worked at her job at K Mart for over 20 years. She was a loyal wife to her husband for 30 years. She was a very straight laced and upbeat person. Her husband David was a fierce tempered person who often openly cheated on my sister. For the most part he was quiet around people of authority and would often lie to gain favor. He was often in trouble but would never get a proper punishment. Him and his mother both worked at the Whitfield County courthouse for over 2 decades. After my sisters murder I went and got his police reports. Just in Dalton City precinct he had over a dozen police reports, not counting police reports in Murray County, Chatsworth City, or Whitfield County, and these reports only go back 5 years. In one event last year, he had a standoff with police that involved a firearm and ended with him taking an overdose of his klonopin, leaving him in a coma for 3 weeks. This story headlined local news and front pages the newspaper for 2 days. This isn't even the most bizarre of his incidents. Reading the reports would make anybody sick. A judge bonded him out on some of his charges, and she would also end up handling his cases. Miraculously, despite all he has done, the prosecution has failed to issue a felony to this man for all he had done prior to murdering my sister. He has had 4 DUIs in the last 5 years, and 8 since 1997, including crashing into a home, falling asleep at traffic lights, and only got crazier, and more dangerous as time went by. He has been on probation through almost all of the last 10 years. If you were to exclude the police reports and only read the ones prior, you would think this guy either had, or was in jail waiting, to do some decent amount of time. Miraculously he has never served more than 2 consecutive days in jail, ever! Video evidence was lost in one DUI case, and he even came to court messed up often, in front of judges, probation officers, and on one occasion it was made known to the entire courtroom, but no one ever took action. The judge would just move his court date. The prosecution team in Whitfield County has given our family the run around since her murder. I have already had to go to the media once about them. There is so much I need to tell you about but not in an email. I would like to have this investigated and would like to speak with you more about the seriousness of this. My name is Greg. You can reach me at 706 581 9178, thank you and god bless

Very sorry about your family, but you did not send an email. You posted your personal information on a public website for the world to see, in violation of the rules of this forum. Contact the admin for removal.
Did your sister know who she was married to for 30 years? She remained his loyal wife after the stand-off with police, thru the four DUIs. Why? So, you can crucify him on the web, but your sister thought that he was the man, which is why she stayed with him for 30 years. Good luck
