Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

Hello, my husband Brian Cohen was charged with two counts of armed robbery, but this is the problem with his cases. He used a "NOTE", the same note, which said, "put the money inthe bag and noone wil be hurt, do it now" it got about $300.00 from one shoe store, then teo days later did this agin in a beauty salon. Now his first public defender told him that the judge would give him life, so his best bet was for him to take a "plea" plus for him to go under Senates Bill 441, but what he didnt tell my hsuand that he would have to do almost 95% of his time without parole, he never was able to face his accusers, nor was he warn abour incriminating himself, and he got 17 years for that charge. Two years and four months later while in prison, he went ot ocurt for the second offense, and was told by this public defender that she could get him off because it ws robbery by 'Imtimadation" and not armed robbery, but he got screwd worse, he was ordered to take a mental evaluation, but when the court began, another judge took over and didnt allow him to have this, but did ask if he was on any type of medication, and my husband tole yse sir, four as a matter of fact which he got from the county jail doctor, and he got 20 years for this offense because that public defender told him that the judge would not take less than 20. They gave him 20 years concurrently for both cases, but did not give him his timed serve4ed for the two years and ofur months, so now he is doing a 22 years bid for a 20 year sentence. Now please explain to me how any of this is right, he committed acrime, a stupid one where noone was ever hurt, he never used a weapon, his Consttutional rights were not permitted, his lawyer tols him to take that plea to get less time but he got more, so please tell me what can we do to get his time served put on, what can we do to get his charges renamed to what it was, because thier was 'No Weapon" which I know will probably be less time that he has served, and his max out date by the way is 8-2021 and this is too long for what he did, "Pleaae Help Us"

Thank You for you time, hope to hear back from you with help

Mrs. Marion C. Cohen c/o Brian J. Cohen

He had a lawyer to answer his questions, and to represent him in the case. Going on the internet to complain years later won't help. You also chose to violate the clear rules of this forum and include both your name and your husband's name, so now anyone can find the information and your description of how your husband committed armed robbery.

Maybe next time you should take out a loan and hire private counsel if you're so upset about "being screwed".

Lesson learned.
