Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
An invited guest/family member at my home, in Georgia, found my 9 MM pistol which was hidden in my master bedroom closet and he took it without my permission. He was arrested on May 17, 2010 and charged with loitering and carrying a concealed weapon - misdemeanor charges. Will the fact that he stole my pistol add to the charges against him and if so will this charge be a misdemeanor or felony by GA Law?

The answer depends on important details you omitted.
Unless you swear out a warrant for the theft, it is unlikely a prosecutor will deal with it.
Whether it is a felony or misdemeanor depends on the value of the pistol.
