Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

Am currently in Iraq and have filed for divorce but that isnt the area i have a question in. I had a joint checking account with my soon to be ex. I am closing the account and having it flagged. there was no money in the account and none going in but yet she has gone and wrote bad checks throughout the area where i use to live. What can i do and what rights do I have? She is the one who is signing the checks. I have contaced oneof the stores and told them to file charges on her for writing the bad check now can i get into trouble if they do that? What avenues do i have to go. Please help. thank you for your time.

The fact that you don't understand that this question is completely related to your divorce indicates that you are attempting a divorce without counsel, which is always a mistake. retain counsel. The disposition of joint bank accounts is one of the many things a divorce addresses (and if you had timely hired counsel, you would have been advised to have closed joint accounts immediately at filing or before).

Your avenue now: get a lawyer to clean up your case and proceed properly. Do not do anything with the checks, bank or store until you have a lawyer completely review your situation, as the fact you did not address this issue may mean you have other issues as well that should have been addressed.
