Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
Juvenile Questions Please Help
Hi, my son has been accused of a battery charge upon a woman. She is pressing charges. I do not wish to take this matter to court and the state will be taking it to juvenile court. My son says he is innocent, but court will cost me and my family so much money and I dont wish to go through that. Is their any way I can avoid court such as a mutual agreement with the ''victim'' or any such other way?

Re: Juvenile Questions Please Help
In criminal matters the "choice" of going to court is held exclusively with the State/Government. Juveniles, especially those that are involved in their first offense, have a plethora of alternatives available to them through the court system. However, they all depend on the STate/Government authorizing such alternative.
