Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
I Live in OR. Last year I rented a car in Georgia. The day I was left my cousin took me to the airport and I gave him cab fare to drop the car off for me. Only he never took the car back. I didn't find out until I got a collect call for bail money and the car was impounded. I found out where the car was and called the rental car company to go pick it up. I apologized and told them to call and let me know what I needed to pay them or to send me a bill. Instead they sent me to collections. I recently found out that at some point they had called the college park police department to put a warrant out for my arrest. So now I have an outstanding warrant in another state for car theft! I have never been arrested and I am frightened. Is there any way for me to fight this? Will I have to go to jail?

I assume the charge is a felony. You should take this seriously and get a GA attorney ASAP. The GA authorities could seek to have you extradited from OR.
