Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
How long can an individual be imprisoned before he faces trial? I know a young man charged with rape and has now been imprisoned for 4 months and still has no idea of a trial date. He has been assigned a lawyer from the public defenders office. The women that accuses him has accused three other men, including her own father in the past and all of them have been found innocent. It appears that the young lady is using this method against anyone that angers her.
