Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

My mother has been held in a mental institution for over 48 hours against her will. she was told to go to see a counselor after reporting an incident of Gangstalking (aka multistalking) to a coworker.

No criminal background, no mental issues, or abnormal behavior. She was told by the workplace counselor to speak with someone who was knowledgeable about Gangstalking. She never met with this person when she arrived at her destination. She was told to sign some papers stating her insurance would cover speaking with this person. Later she was told that she was actually signing herself in! She was highly upset. she didn't know she went there for people to keep her.

U.S. Department of Justice Jan 2009 special report titled "Stalking Victimization in the United States"stats indicate number of perceived stalking offenders by a victim:

One-62.1%

Two-18.2%

Three or more- 13%

Number unknown:6.5%

My point is, although rare it does happen. It is a tactic that has been said to have been used by the Mafia and the KKK. I've lived in the house with her and can verify what she is saying is really happening.

The person(s) wishing to commit her have not filed a petition with the Court to set a competency hearing. They would have not presented evidence to a judge to support their any argument. Her workplace counselor has told my grandmother it was reported that my mother has a "thought disorder". Her workplace counselor that has not been allowed to contact her.

My mother has been told nothing. After 48 hours in this facility she has spent 5-8 mins speaking to a doctor. Today they have just gotten around to giving her a paper stating she can be held for 72hrs!

The main question is do they have legal right to hold her longer than 72 hours? Do we have a law suit
