Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
Is there a motion that can be filed to get the judge to assign a court hearing date?
A remand has been sent down from the Georgia Court of Appeals and is almost a year old and the judge on the case has yet to set a date to answer the remand.

Yes, you can file a motion for a hearing. Of course, just because there is a remand does not, by itself, prove that a hearing is required. The remand might just direct the lower court to proceed according to the Court of Appeals decision. You can't tell unless you look at the Court of Appeals decision and see what the lower court is directed to do.
