First Offenders Act
I understand that under the first offenders act I cannot recieve a carry permit for a firearm. But can I still purchase a firearm for hunting.

I'm pretty sure you can't. When it comes to firearms, it includes any firearms for hunting. Also if you can't carry it, I'm pretty sure you can't purchase it.
Either way, on First Offenders, you want to play it safe so you can ensure the offense will come off your record at the end of the probation.
